6th Sense

6th Sense by FireCat is an AI-powered sensory system for effective on-duty risk management. It is an intelligent, modular system embedded in certified protective garments designed for firefighters and first responders. It combines sensor-based biofeedback with real-time situational awareness to enhance personal safety, team coordination, and command-level decision-making.

The system continuously monitors vital signs (heart rate, oxygen levels, stress indicators), posture, movement patterns, and tactical positioning. This data is securely transmitted and visualized in real time via a tablet-based app accessible to team leaders or incident commanders. At a glance, decision-makers can assess the condition and status of each team member, enabling timely interventions and improved operational oversight. The solution is compliant with EN469:2020 and is engineered for high-stress, high-heat environments without compromising garment integrity.

What distinguishes 6th Sense is its modular integration, meaning it can be adapted to multiple gear types without altering existing workflows. This allows for scalable deployment, streamlined maintenance, and full interoperability across different units and response teams.

Paired with AI-based analytics and predictive alerts, 6th Sense supports proactive intervention and optimized response coordination in complex emergency scenarios. Designed and manufactured in the EU, it addresses key gaps highlighted by IFAFRI/DIREKTION: real-time responder tracking, early hazard detection, and enhanced inter-agency coordination. It empowers decision-makers and safeguards frontline personnel, making firefighting smarter, safer, and more data-driven.

  • The ambition behind 6th Sense by FireCat is to redefine how safety, health, and performance are managed in high-risk, high-stress frontline professions. In a world increasingly shaped by data and smart technologies, we believe that protective gear must evolve beyond passive layers of defense, it must become an active system of awareness, prevention, and command support. Our goal is to set a new benchmark in the firefighting and first responder sector by integrating real-time biometric and positioning insights directly into the equipment already trusted by professionals.

We aim to accelerate the global adoption of wearable safety intelligence that supports faster, data-informed decision-making on the ground and at the command level. The 6th Sense system was developed with scalability and interoperability in mind, allowing brigades of all sizes, from local volunteer units to national response forces, to implement advanced monitoring capabilities without significant infrastructure changes or operational disruptions.

Looking ahead, our ambition includes expanding the system’s functionality to support predictive fatigue alerts, injury prevention analytics, and integration with fleet and incident management platforms. By doing so, we want to not only improve outcomes during emergencies but also reduce long-term health risks for those on the front lines.

Our broader mission is to build a connected ecosystem of intelligent PPE and software tools that empower emergency responders, reduce casualties, and enhance coordination across agencies and borders. Through strategic partnerships, continuous R&D, and a strong focus on compliance and usability, we aim to shape the future of operational safety across Europe and beyond.

  • 6th Sense by FireCat represents a breakthrough in the convergence of certified protective clothing and embedded sensor technology. While wearable tech has advanced in consumer and industrial sectors, its application in frontline emergency services remains limited, fragmented, or non-compliant. 6th Sense addresses this gap with a fully integrated, field-tested, and standards-compliant solution tailored specifically to the needs of firefighters and rescue teams.

Our innovation lies in the modular, gear-agnostic integration of advanced sensors, enabling biometric and positional tracking without altering garment performance or violating EN469:2020 standards. The system architecture is built for extreme conditions, ensuring that data flow and garment functionality remain stable in high-heat, high-stress environments.

What further sets 6th Sense apart is its real-time data visualization platform designed with incident command usability at its core. The tablet-based dashboard offers intuitive access to each responder’s status and generates predictive alerts using AI algorithms trained on live field conditions. These alerts can warn of overexertion, unusual postural patterns, or potential collapse, turning PPE into a proactive tool.

Additionally, we’ve designed the system for plug-and-play compatibility with multiple PPE types and sizes, supporting rapid deployment and streamlined maintenance. Our technology stack emphasizes security, low energy consumption, and interoperability, paving the way for future upgrades including team heatmaps, remote diagnostics, and AI-driven after-action reviews.

By merging high-tech innovation with the discipline of certified garment manufacturing, 6th Sense introduces a new class of “smart PPE” for public safety, bridging the gap between tradition and transformation.

  • FireCat Group combines over 70 years of experience in certified protective garment manufacturing with a dedicated R&D team and partners focused on integrating emerging technologies into wearable safety solutions. Our operational capacity is built on a vertically integrated structure: design, development, production, and quality control are all conducted in-house at our EU-based facility, ensuring end-to-end oversight and accountability.

The development of the 6th Sense system was supported by a cross-functional team of textile engineers, software and product developers, embedded system specialists, and active firefighters. This structure allowed us to rapidly prototype, field-test, and iterate while staying compliant with the EN469:2020 standard for protective clothing. The modular hardware was co-developed with European tech partners, using robust sensor components and secure wireless communication protocols designed for mission-critical environments.

Manufacturing capacity is currently optimized for small to medium production batches, with scalability plans in place to meet larger demand through strategic partnerships and automation. Our internal logistics team handles international distribution, while our quality assurance team ensures every unit undergoes strict functional and safety testing before deployment.

To ensure smooth onboarding, we have developed operational toolkits, installation guides, and a training curriculum for fire brigades. Our support infrastructure includes remote diagnostics, firmware updates, and a responsive technical support channel. Our readiness to deploy at scale is supported by both the technical maturity of the product and our established track record of international B2B operations in the protective clothing sector.

  • The team behind our 6th Sense solution consists of experienced textile engineers, software and product developers, data analysts, and active firefighters. With a strong background in certified PPE manufacturing and practical field insight, we focus on integrating advanced sensor technology into protective garments. Our collaborative approach ensures the system is technically robust, operationally practical, and tailored to real-world firefighting needs.
