The UX11 IR Radiometric is an advanced, automated UAV designed for real-time mapping and monitoring of forest fires. It provides instant and dynamic mapping of fire fronts, enabling rapid decision-making and seamless data integration with Fire and Rescue Services (SDIS) Operations Management Systems.
Equipped with infrared and visible spectrum sensors, the UX11 delivers radiometric data that offers a real-time visual of fire spread directly to the pilot’s console. This aerial insight enhances the identification and mapping of burned zones and hard-to-reach areas such as dense forests or mountainous terrain.
Its 80-minute autonomy and 10 km communication range allow wide-area coverage with BVLOS (Beyond Visual Line of Sight) capability, under C6 marking compliance, authorizing flights without prior clearance in specific zones.
Simple and robust, the UX11 features a Point & Click interface, making it operable by a single person. The system is fully deployable in under 5 minutes from a compact 79x43x35 cm backpack, making it ideal for rapid response.
The drone includes automated mission planning and on-board image processing, supporting thermal and visual mapping with KML file generation for swift data transfer and integration.
Its redundant flight systems, precise landing through low-speed stall technique, and robust materials ensure operational safety. Dual communication options—radio link and 3G (4G-ready) mobile network—provide versatile and reliable connectivity.
Operated through the Delair Flight Deck Pro application, users benefit from an intuitive planning and tracking interface with built-in checklists, no-fly zone alerts, and a flight simulator.
Tested and used in active fire scenarios since 2023 (TRL 9), the UX11 IR Radiometric is a field-proven, reliable solution for automated wildfire surveillance, ensuring precise, real-time intelligence for emergency responders. This Technology known and used in the world for less 3 year

Delair's solution aims to provide instant, scalable mapping of forest fires and fire fronts using an easy-to-operate, automatic drone. It also facilitates the transfer of information to the SDIS Operations Management System. Fire fronts, burnt areas and other points of interest showed on the map are updated in real time and can be rapidly transferred to the SDIS Operations Management System.
Delair's solution has proven its real added value in forest fire supervision and control when used by SDIS 40, a French fire department.
The UX11 IR radiometer, adapted to the needs of forest fire supervision, enables quality information to be collected and instantly processed, facilitating decision-making and improving the responsiveness of teams in the field.
The UX11 is the first drone to be awarded the European C6 mark. This allows flights to be carried out without prior authorisation in accordance with European STS-02 standards. It is authorised to fly over sparsely populated areas out of sight (BVLOS) up to 2 km.
Delair's ambition is to help firefighters across Europe respond more effectively to the needs of their teams when dealing with wildfires.
The solution enables live mapping of the fire front. This solution provides a global view in real time without the need for heavy equipment such as helicopters. It can also be used alongside such equipment to precisely transfer fire front information to the firefighters in less than 5 minutes.
Information is collected automatically by the UX11 drone. The user performs a simple point-and-click operation to direct the drone to the desired location. The drone then takes photos and transmits them instantaneously to the pilot's PC, where the software transforms them into a map.
The pilot can instruct the drone to circle the area of interest, automatically updating the map on the PC to track the fire's progression.
The pilot can then draw the outline of the fire front or any other area of interest. This contour can then be exported from the Delair software and imported into the Firefighters Operation Management System in the KML geographic coordinate standard.
The UX11 IR Radiometric addresses the critical need for real-time situational awareness in wildfire operations, offering a safe, fast, and efficient solution for mapping and monitoring fire fronts and burned areas. Designed for use in complex and hazardous environments, it enables fire and rescue teams to make faster, better-informed decisions while reducing operational risk.
Compact and fully deployable in under 5 minutes, the system fits in a backpack and is operated by a single person, requiring minimal training. Its intuitive point-and-click interface simplifies flight control, reducing human error and minimizing the need for additional field personnel.
The UAV is C6-marked and BVLOS-authorized, allowing flights in sparsely populated controlled areas and beyond visual line of sight. It provides a comprehensive aerial view of hard-to-reach terrains, such as forests and mountainous regions—areas where ground access is risky or impossible for firefighters.
With its radiometric infrared and visible spectrum sensors, the UX11 IR Radiometric delivers a live view of fire propagation directly to the pilot’s console, enabling the real-time mapping of active fire fronts and burned zones. The system also facilitates the automated generation and transmission of KML files, ensuring rapid information transfer to command centers and integration into operational management systems.
By enhancing situational awareness, mission safety, and response coordination, the UX11 IR Radiometric transforms wildfire monitoring from a reactive to a proactive approach—reducing risks for firefighting crews and improving the effectiveness of emergency interventions.
