We are pleased to share the progress made in WP1 of the DIREKTION project, specifically focusing on the development of our comprehensive Assessment and Screening Framework. This framework is a critical tool for identifying capability needs, addressing gaps, and evaluating solutions in the field of Disaster Resilient Societies (DRS). As a member of our community, your feedback is invaluable to ensure that the framework is robust, transparent, and meets the needs of all stakeholders.
Â
We invite you to read the deliverables and share your thoughts, suggestions, and feedback on the DIREKTION Assessment and Screening Framework and the accompanying toolset (please note that there is a form available to provide your feedback on the tool). Your input is essential to help us refine these resources and ensure their applicability and relevance for the broader DRS community.
Â
We look forward to hearing your thoughts and working together to build a more resilient society.
D1.1 "Assessment and Screening Framework"
The goal of WP1 is to establish a set of analytical methods and tools for periodically identifying capability needs and gaps within the DRS domain, while screening current and state-of-the-art technologies and evaluating EU Horizon project outcomes.
In D1.1, we present the DIREKTION Assessment and Screening Framework (DASF)âa method developed to ensure a transparent and impartial screening and assessment processes. The DASF framework is designed to offer a step-by-step method to:
Identify and address capability gaps,
Implement systematic screening of technologies and solutions,
Set-up a roadmap
Â
The DASF framework will be used in subsequent WPs:
WP2 (âScreening and mapping of capability needs & gapsâ),
WP3 (âAssessment and validation of current and expected state of the artâ),
WP4 (âMapping of opportunities and constraints for future programmingâ).
Â
The methods within D1.1 are supported by dedicated tools (to be developed in Task 1.2) that will further aid in WPs 2, 3, and 4.
D1.2 "Tools for Analysis and Screening of Solutions"
Deliverable D1.2Â focuses on the development and design of the toolset that will operationalize the assessment and screening framework created in D1.1. This deliverable covers:
The toolset design and development process, detailing how the toolset will be used during the projectâs lifecycle and beyond, promoting adherence to open science principles.
An overview of the toolsetâs functionality and the steps involved in its development and validation, supported by a User Guide (Annex 3 of the report).
Additional annexes provide valuable resources, including a catalogue of supplementary tools and a summary of change management requests from initial testing (Annexes 1 and 2).
Â
This toolset will play a key role in supporting the DIREKTION projectâs mission, offering practical resources for future project phases and potential post-project use.
