Yesterday, we held the final meeting of the EU-funded DIREKTION project in Brussels. Today, October 1st, the funded phase is over, but the network, its community and its ambition remain.
Over the past years, DIREKTION has brought together emergency responders, civil protection practitioners, researchers, innovators, industry and institutions around one shared objective: making innovation uptake a more systematic part of European disaster resilience.
A sincere thank you to the European Commission, and in particularย Giannis Skiadaresisย andย Filippo Giacintiย , for their continued support throughout this journey.
But perhaps the most important part now lies ahead:

ย ๐น Ongoing mapping of European Disaster Resilience Society projects, to strengthen connections and capitalise on results
ย ๐น Continued work on capability gaps, innovation assessment, knowledge exchange and opportunities for solution providers and practitioners
Our Vision Paper sets out where we believe this should lead: towards a lasting European network that connects operational needs with innovative solutions and supports their path towards validation and deployment.
