DIREKTION Awards and Vision highlighted by CERIS and DG HOME
DIREKTION has received further visibility through the European Commission’s CERIS and DG HOME communication channels, helping bring its innovation uptake activities to a wider European security and disaster resilience community.

The 2026 DIREKTION Awardees are featured in the latest CERIS newsletter, highlighting ten promising innovations selected for their potential to address concrete operational challenges faced by disaster resilience practitioners.
The Awardees have also been presented in a dedicated article on the European Commission’s DG HOME website, which showcases the diversity of the selected solutions, from AI-supported wildfire prediction and hazardous substance detection to responder tracking, crisis intelligence and medical decision support.
This additional exposure directly supports one of the objectives of the DIREKTION Awards: giving promising solutions greater visibility and helping connect innovators with Emergency responders, civil protection organisations, authorities and other potential users.
The CERIS newsletter also highlights the DIREKTION Vision Paper and its call for endorsement.
The Vision sets out a shared ambition for strengthening innovation uptake in European disaster resilience, including better identification of operational needs, stronger collaboration between responders and innovators, improved capitalisation of research results and clearer pathways towards adoption.
Organisations and individuals sharing this ambition are invited to endorse the DIREKTION Vision and support the development of a stronger and more sustainable European ecosystem for disaster resilience innovation.
