At the recent DIREKTION consortium meeting, we had the pleasure of hosting Alex Rösner from THW (Technisches Hilfswerk) to present the POWERBASE project, a Horizon Europe initiative focused on sustainable power solutions for emergency response.

POWERBASE is working to identify low-emission, mobile energy supply solutions tailored for emergency shelters and bases of operation, especially in disaster scenarios such as wildfires, flooding, or earthquakes in remote areas.

The project aims to:

  • Map operational needs of emergency response organisations (EROs)

  • Analyse the state-of-the-art of green, mobile power technologies

  • Create procurement guidance and procedures

  • Build a strong community of users and solution providers

With shared goals around innovation uptake, procurement guidance, and responders’ needs, this exchange with POWERBASE perfectly reflects the collaborative spirit of DIREKTION.

Thank you to the POWERBASE team and THW for the great presentation and commitment to cross-project collaboration!
